Disclosure: I own the G9 II and shoot on GH7's and FX30's for work. I'm gonna have some bias towards the Panasonic offering so take this with a grain of salt. The G9 II is probably the closest you can get in the Lumix lineup at a cheaper price point. It's currently on sale at Amazon for 1.6k body on

For photography, sure. Lenses like the OM 40-150 2.8 is great for sports and auto focus is amazing. Event videography Olympus isn’t it. You can reuse your pro lenses and do video on Panasonic bodies, the GH7 is widely regarded as one of the best video cameras out there. But for dualographers I’d say

The claim that S5 IIx is the same but full frame is not factually correct. GH7 is positioned in a different class in bounds of MFT compared to where S5 IIx is in full frame Panasonic product portfolio for a start. GH7 outperforms S5 IIx in multiple speed related specs, such as 4K 120 FPS video or 4K

What's the price difference between a GH6 and a G9 II? AF is much improved on the newer Panasonic bodies AFAIK (G9 II & GH7)

I have a G9ii and a GH7. They are both known for excellent auto focus. The G9ii In particular is praised by bird photographers. And I have a few years of experience doing event photography, portrait, and video. I recently bought the Panasonic 100-400ii and went out and began “shooting birds” with th

I don't have the GH7, but I've got an S5iix. While I do love the camera and I knew that L mount lenses weren't quite as available as some of the competition (Sony in particular), I do feel like the amount of lenses available and the price of them is at least a bit more detrimental than I thought. I have a GH7 and an E-M1x and tbh I still prefer the E-M1x for AF lmao. Panasonic for manual focus is genuinely better though, at least in part due to the option for constant peaking without a button input and the DFD system

Lumix is underdog in sales and marketshare and thats undeniable. Lumix however is not underdog in performance, if anything its always been pretty much switching position from the best video cameras, to second place in photography wise. Autofocus has always been the struggling point with its contrast

I am enjoying the system a lot. My favourite focal length is the 24-70mm FF equivalent. I love that lens on my camera is as big as a 50mm FF lens. Plus I know for a fact that it is not my camera or lenses that are limiting me to create better pictures. I will only consider switching if the camera or

Going to throw a curve at you: try the Panasonic GH7. You have to have at least a lens or two for the Panasonic you already have. I have a pair of FX-30s. I started using a GH5S because it was what was on hand with my current employer. I was impressed with it, and contrary to your experience--maybe-
