Is Lumix better for video than photography?

I wouldn't say it's video first. It's just that Lumix actually gave you the video features required to fully utilize the capabilities of the camera. The competition often kneecapped their cameras by treating video as a gimmick. Even on Sony cameras, which were popular for video and had capable hardw

Would an OM System camera work for me?

I hate to be that guy, but here it goes. You can make great videos with cameras that are literally 15 years old, it is not about if the cameras are capable but how easy it is and if you have hard criteria ("cinematic" comes down to your understanding of light, framing, story telling and editing). No

Any Lumix Cameras Around $2000 That are Just as Good, If Not Better Than The Sony FX30?

Disclosure: I own the G9 II and shoot on GH7's and FX30's for work. I'm gonna have some bias towards the Panasonic offering so take this with a grain of salt. The G9 II is probably the closest you can get in the Lumix lineup at a cheaper price point. It's currently on sale at Amazon for 1.6k body on

What first attracted you to grabbing a Nikon?

Recently picked up a Nikon Z6ii as a second system to micro four thirds as it best fit my requirements: Good ergonomics. It's no Panasonic G9, but the Nikon Z bodies feel a lot better than their Sony or Canon counterparts Reliable weather sealing. MFT has spoiled me and there have been reports of qu

14-year-old upgrading to Olympus E-M1 Mark II + 14-150mm thoughts on this setup?

Hi, the choice of the E-M1ii is good, there is basically nothing better for that amount of money in that kind of procepoint (though, you can definitely find it for cheaper). Several things to note though : - if you want AF tracking, you don't have 15fps mechanical / 60fps electronic. You have 10fps

Is it just me or a used Panasonic G9 is the best camera on the market?

Agree, that is why I put problem in quotes. This was with the g9 and the 100-300. And I find it repeatable to do. It was a combination of gear that people used for even faster subjects. To me, hard is like, manual focus on a 6fps camera. But the g9 is so much easier that it feels a bit weird that pe

Switching from FF to mFT

Lumix doesn't have better photo IQ, they may have been talking about its Video quality which panasonic cameras are renowned for. If you're trying to keep things small I'd recommend going with the OM-1 or OM-5 vs the G9II. The G9 is considered large by MFT standards and is even bigger than your Z7. H

One of the most exciting new 12k FF sensors for $5000

I don't think they specified whether it's PDAF or CDAF. That'll make a big difference for whether they can eventually get it usable or whether they're going down the path of Panasonic pre-G9 II.

Discussion - see below

Long term prospects? ... IMO not good at all. But I don't really care. I'm quite content with my gear (G9 and EM1X) and if I'm ever not happy with it, I'll switch to another format (or add to my existing gear). What would I change/delete/add? ... IMO not much really can be changed, within the confin
