Switching from FF to mFT
Lumix doesn't have better photo IQ, they may have been talking about its Video quality which panasonic cameras are renowned for. If you're trying to keep things small I'd recommend going with the OM-1 or OM-5 vs the G9II. The G9 is considered large by MFT standards and is even bigger than your Z7. H

Camera recommendations? Beginner
The OM 100-400 II is actually only barely lighter than the Tamron 50-400 and Sigma 100-400 (both very similar in specs to the OM). Of course, the 20MP MFT sensor of the OM-1 still squeezes more reach out of 400mm than the 26MP APS-C sensor of the A6700 (Fuji's 40MP sensor actually beats the OM-1 on
