Polar’s new wearable is screen-free, subscription-free and a direct competitor to Whoop

Subscription free! For now. Hopefully it will not go the oura ring route and introduce a subscription 3 gen later.

Introducing: Litter-Robot 5 Pro, Litter-Robot 5, Litter-Robot EVO, and more!

I used to use an Oura ring for sleep and fitness tracking - as soon as they put MY data behind a subscription paywall I noped out of there. Litter Robot 3 for the win...

Anyone else feel like Apple Watches ruin outfits?

It's also extremely inaccurate in tracking steps and heart rate compared to Oura and UltraHuman. The latter is better and also no subscription iirc. Also Samsung Ring only works with Samsung phones, not with all androids or iPhones.

Oura rings are ugly

I think it’s hilarious that the promoted ad for this post (at least for me) is for Oura rings I think they look nice but I also think they’re not worth it. Having to pay hundreds for the ring itself and then have to pay for a subscription to use it is crazy. Like if you have the money to spare for i

What I'm not gonna buy Wednesday - Anti-haul

I was tempted to buy an oura ring or a hatch alarm clock but I don’t want to have to pay a monthly subscription to use them

I don’t understand the the Oura ring as a viable business product. $500 plus subscription fee for a device that you probably have to remove for high friction grip exercises. Must be for status or chronic tech people that buy anything.

I use a Ring Conn Gen 2 instead. It is cheaper than an Oura ring and doesn't require all the subscriptions that Oura ring does, but still protects your information. Like others have said though, I wouldn't buy it if you're only wanting it while TTC.

Oura ring or RingConn for work?

Thanks a lot for the update! I have two coworkers with Oura but I can’t stomach buying an item and then paying a monthly fee to use it the rest of its life. Are you happy with your RingConn?

ADHD&Oversleeping

Thanks for the rec. Honestly, if that’s working for you, I wouldn’t rush into trying the Oura ring. It’s true that it gives me sleep data without wearing a watch (which feeds into Apple Health if you want - you can specify a prioritization of devices to get sleep data from). But IMO the UI needs wor
