Polar’s new wearable is screen-free, subscription-free and a direct competitor to Whoop

Subscription free! For now. Hopefully it will not go the oura ring route and introduce a subscription 3 gen later.

Weekly Snark: Nov 24 - Nov 27

If it isn’t already, in the future they will study the relative stress of absorbing the data from wearable devices like the Oura ring compared to the benefits of actually using that data to benefit health. Anecdotal, but I wore a Whoop for ~ 1 year and found that the constant feedback messed with my

Oura might be sensing I was glutened

My Oura ring has done the same!! In the past, before they had the symptom radar feature, it would alert me with a low readiness score and say “was it something you ate?”. Now whenever I’m glutened, the new symptom radar feature gives me minor signs. It’s impressive how accurate it is!

found on the street - what is it?

Not a Oura ring. Their insides are a different colour and previous versions had a flat edge on the outside. I have one that looks exactly like this. It was a cheap one I bought from Temu to see if I'd even wear a smart ring.

I have an oura ring and used that and natural cycles to

2.8 miles is only 740 steps?

Ok so my oura ring is tripping then. What do you use to track steps?

function health

Reminds me of how she constantly complains about sleeping poorly but when she tried the oura ring the stats showed she gets average/good sleep most nights. So either the thing doesn’t work or she’s lying/exaggerating. And it’s a dissonance she will never address. Like you said, no one should trust h

Thank god another de-influencing video

Buying an Oura ring twice is insane behavior.
