Your bag is perfect except for "that one thing" - what is it?
I bought an Osprey Farpoint 55 instead of a Farpoint 40 specifically because the 55 doesn't have a laptop compartment.

What’s the one bag you didn’t regret buying after real travel?
Osprey Farpoint 40, EXCEPT THE LAPTOP POCKET DOESN'T GO ALL THE WAY THROUGH.

Osprey Farpoint 40L VS Salkan 35L
I have the Osprey 40L Farpoint and I love it. I don't like to check a bag ever so I use it to travel and to hike. It's been my main bag for multiple long hut treks in Nepal, Peru, Iceland, Patagonia and for Kilimanjaro. It's a solid bag. Sometimes I pair it with an Osprey 15L bag if I need some more

Best bag for backpacking Europe?
40L is a good carryon size. Some budget airlines might consider it too big, but I never had issues. Me and my wife both have REI's Ruckpack 40L. They zip all the way open, you can tuck the straps away, comes with a rain cover and they are sleek. They cost around $150, less if you get a sale. Our oth

Struggling to Choose the Right Backpack for Travel + Overnight Hiking
I think you're asking too much here. Although one of my friends uses a Kelty Redwing (36?) this way. He says it's tough to get all his multi day stuff secured though. I actually don't own a travel backpack per se. You see the Farpoint 40 recommended a lot. Despite that, it has a just-ok harness (but

(need advice) Osprey Farpoint 40 vs Kestrel 38
I love my farpoint 40 but I will NOT be using it for my Camino. I am searching for a different pack with a water bottle holder (main reason) and other random straps and such for random gear. That being said, the harness is the same as other osprey bags so it will be comfortable walking all that time

Osprey farpoint 40 recommendations for packing cubes
i like small cubes because they fit my clothes well the way i regularly fold them. I can’t justify the price of brand name cubes; it’s not that brand name cubes are specifically made to fit that brand’s particular backpack. If osprey made a set of 4 cubes that fit their farpoint 40 near perfectly i’

Bag Finder Megathread - 20 April 2026
What's your bag of choice for backpacking that involves a lot of trekking? I'm going to be doing a year of backpacking next year and will be going through cities, but also doing multi day hikes in certain regions throughout the year. I was looking bags like the Tortuga 40L and the Cotopaxi 35L, and

Osprey Farpoint 40L VS Salkan 35L
I have an osprey farpoint and it’s been alright. As many others have said, the lack of side/outside pockets is annoying. The laptop sleeve doesn’t fit my laptop so it ends up being my document holder. I like the straps that are inside and outside because they keep everything secure and make it easy
