Presenting the Octavia

My latest iteration of my writerdeck is named in honor of Octavia Butler. It is a iPad Mini 6 mated to an Epomaker EP64 keyboard with Drop DCX White on Black keycaps and a custom designed, 3d printed case intended to balance form with function. In the back is a swiveling handle and usb-c charging po

New phone sized ereader

The inkpalms used to be so affordable, now the listings I see on aliexpress approach too closely to boox palma price for it to be bang your buck.

We’re All in ‘Dark Mode’ Now. How light-on-black became a way of life

I would kill for a nice eink phone. I thought the boox Palma would have a cell radio in it but unfortunately it does not.

Which reader would you choose?

I considered getting a Boox Palma because of the size but realized it went against all the reasons I wanted an e-reader in the first place: no distractions and a long battery life. While it's still not as bad as a phone, the fact that it runs on Android means I can download social media apps and end

Kindle as an insert in Traveler's notebook

Yes! I purchased a Boox Palma 2 and it slips beautifully into the proprietary TN Regular size, especially when it has a sewn-in pocket on the cover. This helps me be able to unplug and remain portable (bc we all know that books-on-books-on-books is a slippery [and heavy] slope when trying to go anal

Why are you buying Android-based e-readers?

Boox website for me. I like the Boox palma a lot and use it as a phone before I go to bed, because I read on other platforms (browsers!!) and having the versatility of full android support is nice. Eink is easy on the eyes and that's why we like to read on eink devices. Yes, it's true that I could i

April 2025, what ereader is the most worth it?

I personally would advise against buying any Boox products. Bought a Palma 2 in January and the screen started developing lines, when I contacted customer service I was told that this was due to my mishandling of the device, that the lines were caused by me - repair would cost more than half the dev

Unpopular opinion on the kindle or kobo debate

I absolutely love and prefer my kobo over kindle. I just love the UI so much more. I try to buy all my books on kobo and I have KU on my kindle. It works out great for me. I also have a boox palma that has both and thats for travel.

I'm a dramione hoarder, I can't stop and won't stop saving fics

I've been a Dramione reader for years but just started hoarding last year....currently at 14,487 downloaded. It's an addiction...can't stop the madness! I have everything cataloged in Calibre. I have a Boox Palma as my dedicated Dramione ereader, use Raindrop.io and GoodLinks as my TBR link savers,
