Pre-2012 Kindles are being bricked

If you want an Android device, go Boox Palma. If you want ultra portable, go Xteink. If you want affordable but larger phone sized, go Moaan. If you want an actual phone that's e-ink, go BigMe.

MP3 player for kids to listen to Libby

Okay this has a screen but it’s e-ink, so may be a better fit for what you’re looking for? The Boox Palma is a small e-reader about the size of a phone, that can have downloaded apps. Basically like the e-ink of an iPod touch. It’s compatible with Libby so your kids could listen through it or even r

Reading on a phone sized device

I love reading on my Boox Palma. I was using the Kobo Clara for years but I don’t reach for it anymore.

Upgrade your travel kit with a tiny, Tailscale-friendly router

From the article: Any devices connected to the travel router can reach devices on a chosen tailnet, regardless of whether they have Tailscale installed. and You can connect an e-book library like Calibre with devices that cannot typically run Tailscale, like an e-ink reader (Kindle, Kobo, Boox Palma

got my first ereader to limit my time spent on my phone

it's a Boox Palma! i got one a couple of months ago and absolutely love it, it's basically a mini Android tablet with an e ink screen so you can install all the apps you want (I have Kindle, Kobo, Reddit, language learning apps etc). I read a ton on it and it has replaced my phone (and dramatically

Are there small screen e-readers that fit in a pocket?

6inch can fit my pockets. But if you are looking for a phone sized wink, can check out Boox Palma. It is an android eink. Battery life is not the same as ereaders though, since it is more of a phone/tablet (not that it matters to you here.) It is android, so you can get those scroller clicky things

I wish 6 inch ereaders were more popular!

I have the Boox Palma, and absolutely love it for portability and comfort I can really be anywhere and read easily.

Help, I think I’m going to have to buy an iPad

If I'm being honest, I couldn’t find a similar device and ended up buying an iPad mini for notes and work, and a Boox Palma specifically for reading. If I had to choose just one gadget, I would definitely go with the iPad mini.

Boox palma phone might be coming soon :o

The problem is their software updates. I think it’s fine for an e-reader device to have older software as long as the apps for it still work, but I do think there’s a line there between e-reader and phone. Personally, I wouldn’t want to use a phone that isn’t using at least year old or newer softwar

Just got the Boox Palma 2 - thoughts and Kindle PW comparison

That’s interesting bc I never have to refresh! I think you should keep messing with the settings for at least a few more days before you write that part off. It took me a bit to figure out my sweet spot. I can’t say that I’m the most anal about the words being crisp so I can’t speak to that, but reg
