Just the Peta Pixel guys casually washing the brand new OM-5 Mk II

I have done a similar thing with my old E-M1 II once. Was on a trip in the jungle, dropped my camera with 12-40 mm Pro lens on it into the mud. Like, there was no way to get it off without rubbing it into all nooks and crannies. So I just grabbed my water bottle and washed the mud off the camera. Wo

Even the iconic Afghan Girl photo was edited...

How else do those inset photographers get the bugs to stay still for 100 focus stacked shots? They use Olympus (OM System) cameras. They have focus stacking built in the camera and it takes seconds to take a focus stacked photo.

Why is it that nobody ever mentions any camera but olympus?

Few factors : - Lumix has always been a bit of a video-centric brand, ever since the GH1 released. Most of why peop[le bought Lumix cameras for was very often the excellent video specs compared to the price point, and not really their photo capabilities (which are still good) - Olympus has a HUGE ba

New Zealand photographer takes stunning photos of tiny mushrooms

yeah, it's really awesome. Even for macro photography, those shots look amazing. Guy really knows his stuff. Cool thing about Olympus/OM system cameras is that they're able to stack images internally. So you don't need to do a bunch of post-processing work, it all gets done within the camera I belie

So who's buying an OM-5 II and why? (Surprise: Me?)

I had just placed my preorder yesterday for the new sand beige version, I think it looks great. I’m actually coming over from the Fujifilm system and the X-S10. I’ve been eyeing OM system for a while now, super intrigued by its compact form factor, IPX rated weather sealing, and computational featur

I wish they made a black OM-3, this is what it would look like.

Let’s not act like all they have to do is paint the body black. They have to set up an additional manufacturing and assembly line, and retool all of the relevant equipment for that specific model, even if they own it already. The metal on a painted body has to be prepped to a different finish level

Should i upgrad to the 12-100 f4.0 Pro

The 12–100mm f/4 is, in my opinion, one of the best lenses ever made for any camera system. The only reason I no longer own it is its size and weight on my OM-5. I eventually settled on the smaller 12–45mm f/4, but if I were using a larger body, the 12–100mm f/4 would be the only travel lens I’d eve

So who's buying an OM-5 II and why? (Surprise: Me?)

Yeah I can see why it seems like we’ve had 3 cameras that are the same that have slowly chipped away at what was needed. I don’t think that’s especially fair when looking at the E-M5.3 and the OM-5. They are based on two different “1 series” cameras, E-M1.2 and E-M1.3. The major missteps were: The E

Tempted to convert to Olympus/OM

I moved from Canon Full Frame, 5d Mark II (and actually had a Mark III for two weeks, then returned it when I decided to get the OM-D E-M5 Mark I that released at the same time as the Mark III). There are advantages and drawbacks to FF, APS-C, and M4/3rds. Almost all "drawbacks" for any of these thr

Help me save money?

If you are okay with buying used, definitely take a look at the OM-5 mark 1. Besides the menu system, it's literally the exact same camera with slightly different looks, and it costs 40% less. I don't think that as a beginner you'd need a camera as advanced as the OM-3, the OM-5 is already one hell
