SOOC Jpegs from the Olympus Pen F, settings included

only on cameras with the Color dial. Which only 3 cameras have so far; the pen f, E-p7, and OM3. A shame really because they should have it on all of their cameras imo. Fuji is making bank on the film sim craze but OM systems are limiting it to only 3 of their cameras(2 of which are already 10 years

OM System Now Majority Owned By Former Olympus Camera Division Lead

The big one is that the Continuous AF with Tracking is nowhere near as good as Nikon 3D Tracking, and you can't set it to "any subject detect" like the Nikons. Then other things like you can't re-center the focus point by long-pressing "OK" unless you have moved it recently and it is active. Punch-i

Help me save money?

As a new photographer, what are you going to be doing that needs the features of these cameras that cannot done by an older cheaper camera? This is a serious question you need to ask yourself, and then look back on the older models and see how far back you can go an still meet your requirements. If

OM-3 grip advice

I have the Leofoto one as well, it matches the camera well which is why I chose it. It did scratch my OM-3 in the same place as everyone else, I put a piece of gaffer tape in the affected area to prevent it from getting worse over time. (It's just a little paint loss, annoying it happened but affect

Anyone switched from Sony FF? Thinking about the L10.

Personally, for your use-case, I suggest getting the Sony 40mm f2.5G or the Viltrox 35mm f1.8 EVO. I had preordered the L10 but ultimately canceled because I don't want a zoom lens that extends and retracts focal lengths with a motor. I have both FF and m43 gear and similarly shoot a toddler indoors

Unspoken benefit of the M43 sensor (Olympus)

You're absolutely right about getting similar noise per DoF - I think this is under-appreciated: DoF and light gathering are always linked, you can get a less efficient lens, or an ND filter, but if you want to gather the most light, that's going to mean shallower DoF, they are tied together. Advice needed - wide manual lens with focus + aperture rings for OM.

Regarded adapted lenses the problem is not really bulk. Like old Olympus OM system primes are small and adapter, while does add, its not much bulkier than autofocus lenses. But bigger issue is crop factor. Even if you get old Olympus 16mm lens it effectively turns into 32mm one. There is 8mm fisheye

Unspoken benefit of the M43 sensor (Olympus)

The issue (if it's fair to call it that) for pro photographers is that OM doesn't offer much for them - OM offers great savings and lightweight, compact, gear - but those don't move pros the way they move hobbyists, because pros are open to compromising on exactly those aspects in exchange for thing

What is the best value telephoto lens that is > 100mm?

I bought the Olympus 100 to 400 from Japan on eBay, used, for about 600 bucks. It will work with the Olympus teleconverters. It focuses fast… Is not a very fast lens but wide open, shooting a bird from a distance, depth of field might be a little too shallow unless a few nail focus on the eyes. I wo

Leica Lumix L10 is going to be selling like hot cakes in this economy

Tbf the options the Pen F, EP7 and OM3 offer are also really good but the user interface options are kinda outdated. On top of that Olympus/ OM System never was good at explaining the possibilities. Only a few content creators Rob Trek did a good job. They never made it easier, real time or with app
