M43 - Starter Kit - Criticism Please
Although I’m an OM user my impression is that you’ll be very happy with that setup but the G9ii isn’t that small. Both OM and Panasonic make significantly smaller bodies. I can’t advise you on Panasonic, but OM makes the OM-5ii which is beautifully small, has PDAF, and is weather sealed. I use the O

Price of used OM-1 MK I 's are absurdly low / great bargain. Theories?
OM systems did absolutely shoot themselves in the foot by re-using old camera names that are still traded frequently in used spaces. This creates a lot of pointless confusion. Keep in mind that the OM-1, being a full-grip pro-body that appeals to more serious photographers who are expected to use he

E-M10 Mk II or Mk IV? (for the price difference)
I would suggest a 5 series, E-M5 III or OM-5 as the next logical step. Being able to swivel the screen out, means you can not only take photos "from the hip" in horizontal, but also in vertical orientation, and more importantly, you can reach way about your head and take high-angle photos in vertica

Just what were people expecting with the OM5?
I think it was just too close to the em5iii. It’s a really good camera. I’m looking forward to the om-5ii. I prefer that form factor, and I don’t need the latest sensor. I do hope they include animal detect and maybe the graduated ND filters.

Am I crazy to sell my Sony a7Sii and Canon L series 24-70mm II set up for M43?
Not bad in low light, the drop depends on camera age. I have owned em5, em5iii, g9, S5, g9ii. Sold the s5 and got a g100 while I get another full frame. Still not sure if to stay on L mount or if to shift to nikon. Both of them clip highlights if you are not careful. What you will see is worse shado

I regret to inform you it costs $2000 for a good telephoto on M43 (an Olympus 150-600mm review)
Wow... Here I am taking shots on the EM5.3 + Oly 75-300mm and having a great time. https://www.openfilmmaker.com/olympus-om-d-e-m5-mark-iii-m-zuiko-75-300mm-f-4-8-6-7-ii-the-ultimate-travel-birding-combo/

Which m4/3 to start with?
$1000 isn't a lot but you could go with an Olympus E-M5 III and a Panasonic 14-140mm f3.5-5.6 which would be cutting it close but cover all your use cases. https://camerasize.com/compact/#835.931,ha,t you'd eventually want to get primes for low light scenarios as well.

EM-5 iii ---> OM-5 ii = Worth the extra $365 USD it'll cost me?
Thank you all for your advice, input, and tips! I followed up with the seller and learned two key things: The OM-5 II was brand new (0 shutter count vs ~45k+ on my E-M5 III) A sealed OM 14-150mm f/4-5.6 II that wasn’t mentioned in the ad was also included I already own the Panasonic 14-140 II, so I’

Should I trade my gx85 for an e-m10 IV?
It's a sidestep, not an upgrade. Ok, it's a little bit of an upgrade. Evolutionary, not revolutionary. A little faster, a few more megapixels. The IBIS will be a little bit better. An OM-5 or EM5-III would be a bigger upgrade because you would get a better (much faster) autofocus capable of continuo
