The Irony.
Rephrase: Interesting story, for those who don't know; there's a YouTuber (I forgot their name) who was asked by NordVPN to do a sponsored video. In that video he clearly explains how VPNs actually work, and why it won't protect you from bad actors, as the usual sponsor videos claim. Obviously NordV

The legislature has to watch you watch
How long until we find out that this law has nothing to do with "protecting the youth" and is instead it was passed because NordVPN and Surfshark gave a boatload of campaign donations to Ohio Republican lawmakers?

So not private?
Surfshark is owned by the same entity as NordVPN. They are associated with Tesonet, a company which has a data mining arm (OxyLabs). I would suggest you stick with the PrivacyGuides recommendations for VPNs, that is, Proton VPN, Mullvad, or IVPN: https://www.privacyguides.org/en/vpn/
