Would you buy a Nook? Why or why not?

People avoid the Nook for a few reasons: Nooks are only available in the US. Technically you can use them outside the US, but you're likely to run into issues with actually purchasing things on it. They do, naturally, work outside the US for reading, but the actual process of buying books is US-cent

Ocean Teal GL4

Agree with this. As a kindle user with the latest model paperwhite, I still prefer the nook glow light 4 hardware wise. The screen, buttons, and form factor is just superior. Barnes & Noble just tortures us with the horrendous software.

Coming back

I love my GlowLight 4! I mostly borrow books from the library. Setting up Adobe Digital Editions to get the epub files from libby onto my nook was a pain, but it was well worth the effort. I love the physical buttons and it's the perfect size for my bag and for the using on the commute

My birthday is coming up and I want an eReader but I'm overwhelmed with choices. Any personal favourites or suggestions?

Device Reasoning (ignore this section unless you're curious) - Kobo Libra H2O (I see one in pretty nice condition for $145 on eBay. It's an older device than the Libra 2, but it still serves pretty well.)- Kindle Paperwhite 6, also sometimes called the 12th gen (I'm going to go ahead and rule this o

Black and white plus buttons

I have a Pocketbook Era, the build quality seems excellent. I've only owned it since summer of 2024, having bought it used on eBay, but it's solid, and feels like quality. Pocketbook might be a bit more fiddly for dialing in your experience, there's a fair amount of customizations. If you don't plan

Would you buy a Nook? Why or why not?

Great write-up. Despite a lot of drawbacks, the hardware is great especially if you enjoy pageturn buttons. I have NOOK, Kobo, Kindle and Boox devices and always grab my NOOK GlowLight 4 or 4 Plus to read.

Bare Minimum

If you're tech saavy you can use ADB to install apps (because it's technically android 8.1) so you can install something like eink launcher and koreader to even bypass the nook UI and really just strip it down to basically ereader functionality. I use a Nook Glow Light 4 Plus like this. Just turn of

Lenovo Frost Blue~I Love It!

It's probably not talked about a lot because it's just a Lenovo M9 Android tablet with the NOOK and Barnes & Noble brand engraved on the back. These devices were in the market almost 6-7 months before Barnes and Noble had Lenovo manufacturer some with the NOOK sticker on them. The screen resolution

I had the original Glowlight 4 and went with they basic/standard case that B&N offered in purple. I JUST ordered a ocean teal version (cause I couldn't say no) and ordered a more aesthtic case. Help me read at night!

I have been a pretty big reader most of my life but convincing myself to read in bed was always really hard for me, shifting back and forth to catch the light from a lamp or re adjusting a clip on light every few pages drove me nuts. I got a nook glowlight 4e and have never read so much in my life.
