Are there any benefits...

There is no benefit to having a NOOK over a Kindle eReader, even if the B&N is 5 minutes from you. Nook makes nice hardware. Having page turning buttons is nice. Screen quality on the Glowlight 4 Plus that I have is nice. The adjustable front lighting has been nice.
