It’s been said before, but I think the ZR is already being pushed to capacity given that it doesn’t have an active cooling system. Compression takes more CPU bandwidth than simply handling more uncompressed data even though the data rates are larger. There seems to me to be little reason for Nikon n

Nikon Z5 II vs Nikon Z6 III for a new Nikon shooter
If video isn't a consideration, the Z5ii is the way to go. And buy the 24-120mm f/4 lens to go with it. Best all around lens Nikon has made in years. The only place where the z6iii noticeably wins is video.

Lumix S1ii *Partially* Stacked Sensor ??
I came from Fuji X-H2s as well, and now have 2 x S1ii's. I agree that the S1RII should have the Z8/Z9 sensor and cost whatever it needs to. By using the slower sensor, Panasonic is holding back that model. Its just not fast enough. However, the partially stacked sensor in the S1ii is better than you

Finally switched from LUMIX to Nikon 👀
For video? Don’t you miss open gate? And what about log? Doesn’t vlog allow to push colors just as far as nikons? … for photos yes, but for video I still think the only advantage of the z6iii is 4k50 in fx

Zf vs Z6 III for mixed use: wildlife several times a week, but not wildlife-only?
The Z5ii is just about everything good about the Zf but with a body that makes sense for a general use photographer. That was always the thing about the Zf, with a BSI sensor and EXPEED7, it was far more capable than it needed to be to sell. So people whined about the ergonomis but it realistically

Which one to buy Nikon sale
Z8 is by far the best bang for the buck in the entire Nikon lineup (and all currently available competition), and it's not even remotely close. It is the first time ever that a genuine flagship camera body has been available for thousands less than the competition, and it is literally a Z9 in terms

Wedding Togs, the Sigma Art 1.4 | 40mm or the 50mm?
I used to buy high end cameras. F5 then bypassed d100/d200/d300 and went straight to D3/D3s/D4/D4s. couldnt stand the look of the dx sensors. I was the last to hold out with film. I dont buy into hype and dont have any FOMO ever. I realized after buying a d750 to replace my d3s (was well over 600k c

Nikon 750 vs 850
The Z8 is a huge step up from the Z6III which is why the Z6III is such a tough sell in the current market, given the (relatively) small price difference between the two, particularly if you are willing to buy used/refurb. To some it may not seem like a small amount of money, but relative to the comp

Why is it trendy to hate Nikon?
The Z5ii and Z7ii are the two cameras in the Z lineup with older BSI non-stacked sensors, and therefore have better dynamic range than the rest of the lineup. The A7V has 12.5 stops at base ISO, not 11.7. In comparison the Z6iii has 10.5, and the Z8 has 11.3 (ISO 64). Is that the cause of the whole

Nikon Zf / Z5 ii / Z6 iii
Just went through this exact exercise! Im coming from a full frame nikon dslr and wanted something more compact and with better autofocus. I do photography as a hobby for now, and use mainly for travel and family. I ended up going with a z5ii. I always thought i wanted the zf due to the design and i
