Nikon D850 vs Z6III

I have the exact same setup. D850, D5, Z6iii. Z6iii video is outstanding. I don’t do professional video but the quality is great for home use. For stills, D850 is the best quality. Obvious answer there. Z6iii and D5 are comparable in image quality. I like the D5 autofocus better in fast, crowded env

Reluctant start

Z5ii is the best camera under $2k and the z6iii is the best camera at the next price point up. Nikon struggled for a while, but Expeed 7 is the tits and now that they’ve got subject tracking autofocus nailed down, they are the most well-rounded brand.

Z7ii, Z6iii or Z6ii

Hello. I have sung the praises of the Z6iii a lot so take my opinion with a grain of salt on it. It is arguably one of my favorite cameras I've ever used. I've used a lot. Not everything under the sun for sure, but I have experience with almost every major brand and the Z6iii (especially seen used o

My first week with the Nikon Z6III

Quick note since many of your points are video recording specific: Likely in a bid to split the capabilities of cameras, Nikon also made the ZR, which is basically a Z6iii with no viewfinder and some shaving off of camera features in exchange for loads of video specific features, including 3D LUT. Z50ii vs D850 for budget wildlife photography

My thinking is If you are going to use the d850 exclusively in crop mode, the z50ii will be better for wildlife. The new subject detection is incredible. Pre capture too, I also have cameras that do raw precapture and I find no issue with jpeg only because the nikon jpeg profiles are awesome. If you

From a Strictly Still-Photo Stand Point, the ZR Leaves a Lot to be Desired

So you think Nikon somehow made the sensor less sharp by putting it in a different housing? Gonna chalk this up to user error. There’s no sharpness issues on the Z6iii or ZR or the 14-24mm.

Considering the move from Fuji to Nikon as a pro photographer

You should probably rent a Z6III or Z8 and Nikkor 24-70 f2.8 or 70-200 f2.8 and use it as either a spare camera on a shoot or run through an event you’re at but not necessarily getting paid for. So let’s start with this- full frame when shooting wide open at any field of view is going to require a l

Is the Z6iii worth the money over Z5ii?

Keep in mind that the Nikon D6 (their flagship sports DSLR) released in 2020 shot a max of 14FPS. The Z5II can shoot at 11 FPS RAW and 14FPS JPEG with the mechanical shutter and has a better and smarter autofocus system than what the D6 had back then. Is the Z6III a better camera? Yes. As someone wh

Everyone seems to love the new Zr, why was then everyone hating on the Z6iii?

The general reception of the Z6iii was very good. At the time (and maybe even now?) it's such an incredible bang-for-buck for what you get at the price. It's arguably the most capable hybrid mirrorless camera in it's price range, and it's not close; a workhorse for both hobbyists and professionals.
