Which Nikon Z body is best for dog photography with strong AF tracking (without going to Z8/Z6III)?
Yes, the D850 is a DSLR and it’s expected to work well, but if you want to buy a Nikon Z and not regret the purchase in the long run, you should go for a model with the EXPEED 7 processor. Cameras with EXPEED 6 work well, but they lack many modes and features. The Z5II uses the same sensor as the Zf

What is a decent bugdet camera+lens to get for bird photography for an amateur?
For amateur birding, I've got an OM-D E-M1 Mk II with the 75-300 II (and the 60mm macro for smaller critters handheld macros without a tripod are pure bliss). Before, I was a compulsive buyer: Nikon FF, Z-mount, Canon... tested and sold it all. Since switching to Olympus, no urge to change, lightweig

Which Nikon Z body is best for dog photography with strong AF tracking (without going to Z8/Z6III)?
I have a Z7ii, Zf, and Z8 and I do a fair bit of dog photography. What kind of grip do you have? Does it have a thumb hook? I have the NEEWER CA-079 (not their CA-073 model), and it lets me use the Zf one-handed. The thumb grip makes a huge difference. Maybe try a better $30 grip before an expensive

MP "for all condition"
I've used an M10 and a Q2 (and recently, a Q3-43) to cover civil unrest in Medellín, Colombia. As soon as I put on the gas mask, the M10 goes in my backpack, because I'm not skilled enough to focus a rangefinder with that covering my face. It hasn't taken quite as much abuse as the Qs, which have be

Having a hard time choosing. Leica Q2 vs M10
Hello, I posted the following a while ago about a semi-related thread; maybe this will help you decide. "...I've used an M10 and a Q2 (and recently, a Q3-43) to cover civil unrest in Medellín, Colombia, for five years. As soon as I put on the gas mask, the M10 goes in my backpack, because I'm not sk

Nikon Service saved my sanity
I've been a lifelong Nikon shooter/fan. However, I sent my backup-Z6 in to Nikon to get the shutter button fixed back in February. After a month, with no other communication, it was mailed back to me with a typed letter that said they could not/would not repair it because it would exceed the value o

Thoughts and advice between 2 cameras R7 vs Z6 and Z62... Opinions ?
My usual target is birds For birds the Canon lilkely has the best AF of those three, but certainly has the most "reach" for given focal length due to much finer pixel pitch. but I've done some macro Small pixels are great for that too. More details from the same lens (or focal length). while the z6

Z5 II - Keep or not the sticker on the back of the screen ?
My Z6 iii didn't have this sticker. I'd be slightly annoyed by it, if I locked the monitor with the back facing outward. I wonder why it's there -- the permanent serial number plate is the useful data. Is this an EU thing? This photo shows that theirs had the importer web site, etc... https://www.re

Can someone pleeeeeeease explain the fascination with Leica cameras?
I covered the four-year national strike in Medellín, Colombia, 2019-2023, first with a Nikon D4 and a 24-70mm lens. It held up great, even after getting blasted with tear gas, water cannons, dust, etc. However, it is a damn heavy camera, and I was getting back pain carrying it (along with a backup D

Upgrade Question - D780/Z5II/Z6III
That's a massive amount of fear mongering. Nikon makes very reliable equipment that lasts for years, if not decades, after a warranty has expired and parts are no longer available from Nikon. Only fools buy camera equipment as investments are they rarely if ever sell for more than what you purchased
