Z50 II

I shot an event with a borrowed D4 and yes the files were really good. Seems to be the low-res sensor. I photographed two events with a D850 and found its files needlessly large. "But then you can crop", not really as the noise per pixel was quite visible, and seemingly not all lenses resolve a D850

No you won't, because the pixel density of the sensors is pretty much the same. A Z8 in crop mode generates a 20MP APSC image, compared to 21MP for the Z50 II.

Ah a fellow Rolex 24 enthusiast. Great work with the iPhone! The Z50 II is going to have the newer AF tech but the Z5 is probably better suited for the types of shallow DOF shots you're going for here being FF. If you can get a Z5II, that would be the way to go.

That's fair! But most mounts have an option for IBIS, especially on their higher end models. I have the same struggle. I have both Z6 III and Z50 II. I prefer the Z50 II + 100-400 for lighter weight but Z50 II is not as good as Z6 III. Have anyone compared Z6III + 180-600 and Z50II + 100-400?
