Nikon Z50 II and with an FTZ ... Nikkor 18-140 mm f/3.5-5.6, Nikkor 70-300 mm f/4.5-6.3, Nikkor 50 mm f/1.8G, Tokina 10-20 mm f/2.8G I mean, you can do that, but I wouldn't. Simply put, the new 16-50, 18-140, 50-250, and all wide angle options put the older F-mount lenses to shame. An FTZ is an expe

Best Performance for Value Zoom Cameras & Frames + Long-Reach Lens for a Wildlife Org To ID Birds & Take Decent Photos?

$400-800: The FZ80(D) is probably your only option if you are buying new. A used Nikon P950 also falls in that spectrum, though usually closer to $800. The FZ80D already has a lot of zoom and the P950 has even more. Neither are good in low light or particularly fast, so keep in mind that they'll str

Z50II vs Z5II

Nikon Z50 II is lightweight & compact and so are the kit lenses. Unfortunately, there are very few professional and semi-professional grade lenses. What's more, the body relies on the built-in touch display for a number of interactions, which can quickly become an issue. Especially if it's below 0 C

OM-5 mkii Rumored Specs

No big upgrade needed? Mate, it has worse autofocus than cameras released in 2019. You can pick-up an a6100 and it will smoke the OM-5 for tracking. That is just not acceptable in 2025. For context, the el cheapo R10 and Z50 II both have their respective flagship’s autofocus algorithms, subject dete

N-log for Z50 ii but not Z50

of the expeed 6 cameras, only the z6/7 (and II) can do N-Log, and they have to use an external recorder to record it, and cannot do it natively in-camera. It could be that it's a hardware limitation on the lower cost bodies or nikon's own decision not to enable it to differentiate the different came

London Street photography. Shot on a Nikon z50 II + NIKKOR 16 - 50mm f2.8

That’s kinda what I already said. If Nikon could sell this lens for under £500, and hadn’t launched the Z5ii at such a cheap price, the Z50ii and this lens would be an astonishing crop sensor combo. As it is, the only advantage is size

Birding camera recommendations

Definitely A6700 + 200-600 over Z50 II + 180-600. The A6700 has a higher resolution and IBIS and I think the 200-600 has a reputation for being sharper than the 180-600. The 150-500 recommendation is mostly for budgetary reasons, but it is also much more compact than the big 600mm zooms. Seriously,

Canon R7 vs Nikon z50ii debate for most bird photography Hi everyone. I have been shooting for the last six years with a Nikon D5600 and Tamron 18 to 400 mm zoom. I’ve generally loved the set up because it’s lightweight and I am a very small person with some shoulder issues, and really can’t handle

Just bought a z50ii, but I hate it. What do I buy?

Your background AF issue is definitely 'user error', and I don't mean that in an offensive way, only that there are ways you can set up the Nikon Z AF system to prevent that. Chances are you're just used to your D500 form using it for what I assume is several years, so everything just works the way
