Z30 to Z50ii big enough upgrade?
it has the same exact sensor. It doesn't have the same sensor. Although Nikon introduced a 20.9MP sensor in 2017 with the D500, it's undergone two major upgrades since then: the first to the Z30/Z50/Zfc's sensor to add phase detect autofocus and improve readout speed, and again for the Z50II to give

Dummy battery issues
Just use USB-C power delivery and skip the dummy battery. There is no official Nikon dummy battery for the Z50/Z50ii/Zfc/Z30. If you decide not to use USB-C, the Z5ii and Z6iii should use the official Nikon EP-5B.

He feels that it forces him to use his creativity more, rather than leaning on the camera's abilities

Silver zf looks and feels very cheap
It's clear you haven't held a silver Zf. Man why don't people go to a camera store and look at it before they comment on this post and spread misinformation. Zf silver looks darker than the Zfc, Nikon themselves even said they used a darker finish in one of the promos.
