Thinking of Switching FROM Fuji to Nikon

I use both systems extensively. I switch between xt5, z8, xt20, xt 30, etc. If you're not a jpeg soc shooter, it's a significant improvement using Nikon. Full frame files from my z8 beat my xt5 images, despite the small difference in megapixels. I'm not sure what raw editor you use, but Lightroom ne

is the original Z6 still relevant to get a feel of the Z system?

Yes, of course it's relevant. It didn't break when the newer models came out. IQ isn't and issue and hasn't been for around 15 years. Pretty much every full-frame camera from every brand has had pretty much the same IQ during this time--the Canon 5D mark iii was probably the last camera with previou

OM-5 mki or OM-3 for a “Dad cam”?

Another Dad here with young kids: I have an OM5i and the Panasonic 12-35 2.8 is on the camera 80% of the time. I use the 25mm 1.7 for indoor birthdays etc but I’d much rather something wider and brighter like Panasonic 15mm 1.7 or Oly 20mm 1.4. I think a nice bright lens beats the autofocus improvem

OM-3 and Nikon ZF

Own the om3 have used the zf and use other Nikon full frame regularly. I own much more capable bodies from all brands and the om3 gets used a lot. I would pretty strongly recommend the om3. Specific to the picture profiles. The om3 creative dial is favourite feature and I use it consistently. Once y

Z8 and Lenses / moved from GFX

I moved from GFX as well. Files were great but even the GFX 100 II the autofocus wasn’t great. The other thing that bugged me was the 200mb raw file size. Constantly filling up cards and hard drives. Didn’t mind the lens selection but hated the native lens prices. $2.3k for a 55/1.7 is ridiculous. I

fuji xt-4 or nikon z6

Just keep what you have unless you can get into one of the Expeed 7 bodies, that is where you will notice a positively enormous difference in Nikon land (ZF, Z50II, Z5II, Z6III, Z8, Z9, ZR). If budget is tight, consider a Z5II, it is the newest entry level full frame Nikon Z camera with Expeed 7 and

Any ex-Canon users who switched to Nikon?

I've used the 3 major systems (Canon, Sony, Nikon), and I don't regret sticking with Nikon. From a general perspective - I think most newer FF bodies have pretty great AF performance. Can't speak from a video standpoint but from a stills POV - I've never struggled in any situation with any system as

Has anyone else gone from dslr to Z series and found it a bit of a learning curve?

Not sure if you're looking for help or not. If you are, I would start with the mission critical stuff and then start easing the more advance stuff in as you find things are holding you back. Mission critical: Making manual settings in easy to access spots. This can either be done in the i menu or by

Which one should I buy?

The real question is which one would you actually take with you most often? You’re somewhat comparing apples and oranges. The XE5 is intended as a “lifestyle” camera for creators that want interchangeable lenses versus the X100’s fixed lens. Yes, it’s a serious imaging tool too, but its design is ce

Nikon D800 a good second hand purchase?

The other one (that's probably out of your budget in CAD terms) to look at is just to not go full frame at all and get a D7500. Compared to the 24MP full frame sensors it actually resolves a bit more detail due to the lack of an AA filter (and 5,568 pixels on the long edge is quite a bit of resoluti
