So Long to the Z7 Platform?
I have a theory about this: The Z7 only existed because Nikon needed something that they could vaguely compare to the D850, but neither the Z7 or the Z7II ever hit the highs that the D850 did. The Z8 showed up and took that position over. Quite successfully too, I might add. There's just no niche th

Mirrorless D500
I think the biggest problem is the pricing. Technically - many people may/would like Z8/Z9 capabilities with DX sensor, but the price for such camera would be probably somewhere around current Z6III or Z7II. Which would not make much sense for most of people to pay for - financially nor technically.

Anyone have any idea how many Z7s were sold?
Z7 sold in way lesser numbers than Z6 People who own a Z7 for shooting landscape or relatively static stuff ain't upgrading to Z8 because there is not much benefit for them The very fact that Z7ii is still holding on a relatively high asking price in the used market means Z7iii isn't coming. Not any

So Long to the Z7 Platform?
On a settings banks equipped modern camera (EXPEED 5 and later at least, might go back to the EXPEED 4), you can also set it to change between banks with a simple button+dial with your eye to the finder and immediate feedback, just like you'd adjust exposure compensation or ISO. There are also numer

Z5II or Z7II
Thé autofocus requirements for what you like to photograph is more the deciding factor Also, auction implies neither price might be those listed. Is there return possibly? Z7ii: no lens, no FTZ and you likely have DX format F mount lenses so you will either have to buy the adapter and live for a whi

Is going from a Z7 to a D850 a downgrade, an upgrade, or a side grade?
I shot the D850 for many years. Tried to switch to Z with the z7 and for me it wasn't good enough. I sold the z7 and kept shooting the d850 for a few more years. So I'd call the d850 an upgrade from the z7. I skipped the z7ii as I felt it didn't push far enough above the z7 to try again. I did event

So Long to the Z7 Platform?
I was squarely in the D700 camp moving from the D750 to the Z7II and very disappointed. I thought that was their strategy- and they abandoned it

Z7ii or Zf to replace Nikon F6?
Z7II costs more (in AU it’s about 50% more at full retail), but if you’re looking to just sell it you might find the Zf is easier to sell because it is cheaper and aesthetically probably more popular because of the retro look. IMO the z7II is too close to the Z8 in price but nowhere near the feature

Z7ii or Zf to replace Nikon F6?
if your plan is to sell it, look at used resale prices to get an idea of value. I know from experience the Z7ii is not worth much on the used market. there are a lot of them out there as it was a transition camera that people bought to move into mirrorless but didn’t replace the D850 they were using

Z7ii or Zf to replace Nikon F6?
Since you're thinking about selling to buy another F6, I think Zf is a better choice since it's newer and more popular, so probably can sell easier and/or fetch better price. and despite Z7ii might have higher sticker price that also may translate into harder time in selling it.
