There’s too much overlap with the Z8 for this to happen - the Z8 is only 1/3 of a stop worse at ISO 64 than the Z7ii, but has a much larger potential market as it is also much faster (making it good for sports, birds, etc.) and will do video better than a hypothetical Z7iii. The only real likelihood

I have a theory about this: The Z7 only existed because Nikon needed something that they could vaguely compare to the D850, but neither the Z7 or the Z7II ever hit the highs that the D850 did. The Z8 showed up and took that position over. Quite successfully too, I might add. There's just no niche th

It's absolutely possible to shoot movement on the Z7ii, just not super easy. I treated it like a decent DSLR rather than a mirrorless. I had most luck using the expanded single point (the one that looks like a single point with 9 dots around it) and doing my best to keep my subject centred. I did pr

As someone with two Expeed 6 bodies (Z50, Z7ii) which I used for years before getting my Z9...it's not impossible, but you're going to work much much much harder for those BIF shots than with the newer processor. I should know, because I spent years with the Z50 and Z7ii, and especially for birds th

Z5ii. megapixels aren't everything, and if you don't need the additional features of the z6iii, the z5ii would be perfect. the added capability of the expeed7 processor makes enough difference over the dual expeed6 of the z6ii and z7ii

Z5ii unless you’re planning to do lots of video, in which case Z6iii. Z5ii and Z6iii have the newer EXPEED 7 processor and have much better autofocus as a result than Z6ii or Z7ii. Z5ii has more dynamic range than Z6iii under ISO 800 (they’re about the same above ISO 800). Z6iii is much more capable

Can it be used for wildlife? Yes. Will it struggle to catch focus on moving subjects? Also yes. People have taken excellent wildlife photos on cameras far less capable than the Z7ii, so it's by no means incapable of being a wildlife camera, but you will notice that it struggles with the speed and ac

if you're using a full frame camera, unless you're using one of the higher resolution bodies (z7, z7ii, z8, z9), then i feel it wouldn't make sense to use the dx lens, mainly cos it turns your camera into a 10-12 MP camera (not that it's unusable, but it's quite the crop). Also, I wouldn't necessari

Try out Expeed 7 (basically everything newer than the Z6ii/Z7ii)

I think the biggest problem is the pricing. Technically - many people may/would like Z8/Z9 capabilities with DX sensor, but the price for such camera would be probably somewhere around current Z6III or Z7II. Which would not make much sense for most of people to pay for - financially nor technically.
