So Long to the Z7 Platform?
On a settings banks equipped modern camera (EXPEED 5 and later at least, might go back to the EXPEED 4), you can also set it to change between banks with a simple button+dial with your eye to the finder and immediate feedback, just like you'd adjust exposure compensation or ISO. There are also numer

Is going from a Z7 to a D850 a downgrade, an upgrade, or a side grade?
I shot the D850 for many years. Tried to switch to Z with the z7 and for me it wasn't good enough. I sold the z7 and kept shooting the d850 for a few more years. So I'd call the d850 an upgrade from the z7. I skipped the z7ii as I felt it didn't push far enough above the z7 to try again. I did event

What am I doing wrong, movement on Z7II.
From what I gathered when I initially bought the Z7 (and not the Z7II) is that it’s a slight improvement but not in the same league as Expeed 7.

Deciding between Z8, Z6iii or add a ZR for video to my already travel bag
I don’t understand why you’re dismissing the Z5ii saying it isn’t as ”sharp” and downgrading below a Z6iii. I have a Z9, a Z8, a ZR, a Zf, and a Z5ii. I got rid of the Z7ii quite a while ago and don’t miss it at all. for a do it all camera on a trip, I have no concern taking the Z5ii. the best part

So Long to the Z7 Platform?
I think it would be great to have a more compact 45MP body in the lineup, but sales history is the determining factor for future investments in R&D and especially retooling production lines. I think the larger sensor becomes a problem for pleasing hybrid shooters because it can't achieve the video p

Why is it trendy to hate Nikon?
The Z5ii and Z7ii are the two cameras in the Z lineup with older BSI non-stacked sensors, and therefore have better dynamic range than the rest of the lineup. The A7V has 12.5 stops at base ISO, not 11.7. In comparison the Z6iii has 10.5, and the Z8 has 11.3 (ISO 64). Is that the cause of the whole

Please Nikon make a Z7 III
I think the OP, myself, and others just want a modernized Z7ii. For me to have kept mine, all I would have required from Nikon is a firmware update to allow customizing the controls the same as my other cameras. After shooting the expeed7 cameras regularly the expeed6 cameras were limiting.

Please Nikon make a Z7 III
As u/tS_kStin sais, separation from Z8 is important. Aditionally 45MP is not sufficient from marketing point of view. Also 45MP is way too aliasing prone. The pixels need to shrink a lot. The key problem is that adding lots of pixels makes low light EVF performance worse (due to line/pixel skipping
