I was squarely in the D700 camp moving from the D750 to the Z7II and very disappointed. I thought that was their strategy- and they abandoned it

Z7ii or Zf to replace Nikon F6?

Z7II costs more (in AU it’s about 50% more at full retail), but if you’re looking to just sell it you might find the Zf is easier to sell because it is cheaper and aesthetically probably more popular because of the retro look. IMO the z7II is too close to the Z8 in price but nowhere near the feature

Gear that was actually end game for you.
