Anyone here with a Z7ii?
I have a z5 and a z7ii. I don't think the low light or focus will be dramatically different, the z6ii and z7ii are very similar cameras, and they share the same electronics and software. In some ways, the 24mp sensor performs better, especially at high iso. At low iso, the z7 is better. https://phot

Z50ii vs Z5ii
No, in normal shooting cases in good lighting with people who know how to use the cameras, you won't be able to know which shots are from either sensor without looking for clues, like resolution, EXIF data etc. Some here will violently disagree with that statement and some "professionals" will tell

Z6 II (old Nikon DSLR lens) or Alpha 6700 (Sony)
The 18-55-lens is APS-C lens so using it would be significantly underutlizing the camera - no meaningful performance improvement on FF body like Z6ii. The longer zoom allows for larger light collection, but you'll lose a bit or "reach". Z6 ii is better camera in most ways apart from one: AF - the So

Should I upgrade from Nikon D750 to a Z series?
You already said you don't need to, so don't. Based on IQ, you won't notice a worthwhile difference with a Z6/Z6ii in daylight (BSI/higher native iso helps for low light a lot though.. Z6/Z6II are Nikon's best "low light" cameras ever, with Zf close). To me, a worthwhile (cheapest) upgrade begins wi

Cinematic Dark Ride Photography
Yea sure! These are all shot on a Nikon Z6ii full frame camera with Anamorphic 1.8 prime lenses from Sirui. So they can let in a LOT of light which is key for such dark photography. The Z6ii handles low light pretty well but at this level the files are still really noisey without proper processing.

Is this an upgrade or a downgrade?
Yup, I miss my focus motor... Even though the SWM is faster and the new focus mechanism in the Z lenses is even faster than that. I'm amazed at how quickly my Z6II can focus with a modern lens on there, like the relatively cheap 28-70 f/4. (Also, the new Nikon 50mm f/1.4 is amazing, as is the Viltro

Is Sony still the low light king?
i shot northern lights with the A7s II and felt the same about that noise reduction. the FX3 and A7s III are better but still have some of that digital feel in shadows. for organic noise the Panasonic GH5S or S5 II actually give you a more filmic grain structure in low light. also look at the Nikon

Z5 is cheaper now than Z50ii. Should I get the Z5 in 2026 for travel and family photography?
Both are good cameras and you won't go wrong with either. Z5 is slower in autofocus but it isn't as bad as people are making it out to be. It's sensor is slow (readout speed of 1/10 sec) so struggles with action but it is a bigger sensor with IBIS. So it can capture much more light than Z50ii withou

Nikon Z6ii vs Z50ii in 2026?
Conventional wisdom seems to be the Z5II is better, and I won't argue because I haven't used one. I went through the same mental gymnastics you're going through. Long story short, my budget was about $2K for lens and body, and I went with a used Z6II (much cheaper than a Z5II) and splurged on an ope

Is there anyone you mainly uses a old camera? How is it?
Cameras age slowly. I just switched from my Nikon d7200 (from 2015) to a Z6ii (released in 2020). Both are 24mp. Both take great pics when paired with a good lens. I switched only because the newer sensors have much better low light ability and they are much quieter - even silent if you choose. And
