Best Bang for the Buck Mesh WiFi System

I'd go with the TP-Link Deco XE70 Pro, it offers the best balance of performance, future-proofing (Wi-Fi 6E), and value. Great for large homes with lots of devices, and supports multi-gig speeds if your fiber plan is fast. Better value than Orbi 770 unless you really need Wi-Fi 7.

real world difference in wireless vs wired backhaul for Orbi 770?

I use MOCA with my Orbi 770 mesh system. Couldn’t be happier. It just works.

Frustration Post

Yes that's how I always deploy my new wifi hardware. I went from old school Netgear Wifi 5 -> Google Nest Wifi Pro -> Orbi 770 -> Eero Max 7 all keeping the same SSID until recently when I decided to retire the old creds.

RBR40 - why keep?

I have the exact same one. Just bought the orbi 770 today with prime day deals. Loved the last system but clearly it was getting overloaded with all my devices. Haven’t been able to connect all my lights in basement for over 3 months. This should fix it:)

New mesh system

I just upgrade to the Orbi 770 and am very happy with my investment. We have about 20 devices hooked up and the internet speed is extremely fast. We live in a brick house with plaster walls. Make the investment. You will not be disappointed.

Need Router w/ satellites - most concerned with high security (and apple compatibility)

Apple compatibility should be nothing to be concerned with. All this WiFi crap has to meet standards or nothing would talk. Your biggest issue with mesh is getting good WiFi paths back to the router. With mesh, you have two WiFi problems -- Client to mesh node and mesh node to router. Most people wi

Orbi 770 versus Orbi 850 (RBK853) - wifi range to satellites?

My experience: The Orbi 850 has a better range, but the stability is much better with the Orbi 770, especially with iPhones not dropping anymore. Additionally, the design is sleeker, faster Ethernet ports (although less), you can use all WiFi channels (no channel is reserved for wireless backhaul al

Orbi 770 versus Orbi 850 (RBK853) - wifi range to satellites?

Sounds like OP already made the switch, but I can provide my specific experience for the benefit of others. I ran the RBK852 config for the past three years and it was absolutely rock stable. Never had any issues with it despite a house full of devices and multiple 4k streaming TVs. I was itching to

Orbi 770 and Wifi 6E devices?

I have an Orbi 770 and my iPhone 15PM connects to the 6Ghz bandwidth just fine, as do my other 6E capable devices. No special set up is required, it just works.

Looking to replace Orbi 770s with Ubiquiti. Not interested in ceiling mount.

You can grab some MoCA units if you have Coax drops to prevent tearing up your walls. Etsy has stands available for their flying saucer shaped APs, you can 3D print stands for In-Walls (which is what I did for my U6Es) and there's first-party stands available for the U7 ProWalls. It looks like Orbi
