Orbi 970 with Ubiquity ucg-fiber?
I did this with Orbi 770. Didn't solve any of the reliability issues with the Orbi system for me. Then built out a full UniFi XG switching core too. Everything worked fine on that and solved the backhaul hourly lag / packet loss when fully wired. Didn't help with the wireless implications though, of

Is TP Link a good replacement for Orbi?
I switched to Eero 7 stuff, running 2x Eero Max 7 and 2x Eero Outdoor 7 in AP only mode w/ UniFi UCG-Fiber for my router/gw. No regrets. SO MUCH more stable than the Orbi 770 with its hourly lag/packet loss issues. The roaming is second to none. I've tested it thoroughly and I'm impressed. I know it

real world difference in wireless vs wired backhaul for Orbi 770?
I saw no improvement with stability my 750 series with wired backhaul vs wireless mesh. It wasn’t good with either after a given firmware update. I personally left Orbi a year ago due to stability problems. There is still someone I help out who has a 770 series. Their stability has been getting wors

Stream randomly drops to 1FPS
I had a very similar issue with my mesh system… Once I turned off all but the main node, the problem went away. I had a Orbi 770 and it had basically no options to resolve the issue, but then I switched to a TP Link Deco WiFi 7 system and the lag spikes went away as long as I set it to prefer a sing

Orbi 770 versus Orbi 850 (RBK853) - wifi range to satellites?
Thanks for sharing your experience! Interesting that some are seeing issues with BE wifi on certain mobile devices and others are not. This is why I am considering still trying the 770. My biggest concern is if the antennae (intentional plural spelling) in the 770 are a downgrade (as it has been rep

real world difference in wireless vs wired backhaul for Orbi 770?
The wireless backhaul is impressive on the Orbi 770 system, however, there is a BIG issue with a 20-30 second interruption every 60-ish minutes on their mesh system that impacts all devices connected to the satellite(s). Running wired backhaul does improve this issue greatly, but it's still present

UDR7, UCG-Fiber... or Mesh?
Orbi 770/870/970 are horrible and riddled with serious show-stopper bugs. Been there, done that. I'm running UCG-Fiber + UniFi 10 GbE switches for backhaul to a combo of Eero Max 7 and Outdoor 7 running in AP mode. Works fantastic and the roaming on Eero is unparalleled. Rock solid long term as well

issue with iPhone
Similar issues. iPhone 17 pro and Orbi 770. I noticed slower speed seems to be due to hanging on to a satellite or router longer than it should when I am closer to another. If I wait a few minutes or turn off WiFi and back on, speed jumps up again. The Orbi app rarely shows the correct AP for my dev

BEWARE: Orbi 770 is absolute trash. Netgear support is even worse.
The Orbi 770 doesn't have dedicated backhaul, it shares the 5 Ghz and 6 Ghz client bands. Only the 800 and 900 series have dedicated wifi backhaul bands. Edit: A mesh system is overkill for a 1000 sq ft home!

Looking for practical differences between 770 and 970
I have the orbi 770. With wired backhaul as it couldn't handle my plaster and would walls and L shaped house. Without loosing significant speeds. It does well at much higher speeds now. But when i game online with my Playstation it still lags significantly
