What about de-proton?
All I can speak on with this is the VPN, I've heard great things about Mullvad and it doesn't even require you to set up an account. Apparently authorities went to their headquarters demanding data on their users but Mullvad had no data to give, so even if they did wanna comply they literally couldn

ProtonMail payment data reportedly used by FBI to unmask anonymous Stop Cop City account
Disclaimer: This is not meant to be victim blaming, I think what happened to the person here is terrible. This was an opsec mistake, Proton Mail gives you the option to pay via cash by mail, if you know you're an activist who could be targeted, make use of that option. Your IP address could still le

UK households told to delete VPN after bank accounts emptied
UK households have been urgently warned to delete a popular VPN app, Modpro IP TV + VPN, as it covertly spies on your screen and drains bank accounts. Goddammit, people. You are routing all of your internet traffic through these services, for your own sake, do your research before choosing which to

YSK that 88% of "free" VPNs leak the exact data they promise to hide. The app you installed for privacy is probably the most surveilled app on your phone.
If you need a VPN just pay the 5 dollars a month for Mullvad

By far the weirdest Advert I've seen on the Tube
Mullvad is the single best VPN for privacy. Great prices as well. The point of this ad is to criticize the government considering bans on encrypted communication.

100%. I was skeptical of so many VPNs because there were so many cut-and-paste comments promoting the same ones that were written to seem like they weren't posted a marketing team. I filtered through them and only Mullvad and PIA were left, but went with Mullvad and am super happy with it.

Exclusive: Ofcom is monitoring VPNs following Online Safety Act. Here's how
Mullvad doesn’t keep any logs (proven by police raids at their office in Sweden), and you can literally post them cash. They don’t know who their customers are, they just assign you a number. Unless they waste millions on a massive international operation to track down every VPN node / server, there

Which premium subscription is actually worth the money in 2026?
Proton, or Mullvad. Proton is more convenient, but Mullvad has literally been raided by the police without giving up any info.
