Just purchased the MSI MAG 272QP X50 came with version 013 and trying to update to the new 015. Getting the same error. MSI advised I ship the monitor to them(which I’m not going to do). They need to release another version or something…

But that's not the behavior seen on the MSI MAG 272QP QD-OLED X50 in the Monitors Unboxed review. If this matches your expectations, then the EOTF Boost Mode on the X50 doesn't - and is likely bugged. The behavior shouldn't differ between the X50 and other MAG QD-OLED monitors.
