After trying a few of the stronger handhelds available, here are my thoughts to hopefully help others.

Tldr: tested several gaming handhelds trying to run Oblivion Remastered on the go. Key takeaways: • Steam Deck – great for older/backlog games, struggles with new AAA titles • Legion Go S Z1E – best all-rounder for most people, buy used for $500-700 • ROG Ally X – best for travelers, but the 7” scre

Steamdeck alternative for current AAA games

The Deck runs a four-core Zen 2 CPU. The Go S has two SKUs, the Z2 Go has a four-core Zen 3+ CPU whereas the Z1 Extreme variant has an eight-core Zen 4, so it's already far better than the Deck. You could also get some of the alternate Z1 Extreme devices, such as the Legion Go, ROG Ally, or the ROG

MSI Claw 8 AI Better?

Ive had a claw 8ai quite recently, now own a legion go 2. In my opinion when you move up to an 8in screen it makes a huge difference, now im playing on the lego 2 with its 8.8in it makes my steam deck look comically small... However if you are quite used to a 7in screen then moving to another 7in sc

Just release Auto SR already

It's not like Auto-SR is major reason to get XaX instead of other PC handhelds. There are plenty other reasons for it. Claw 8 AI+ also have NPU that is not really utilised and I don't see anyone begging MSI for it.

Thinking Of Changing Legion Go 2 to the Claw 8 Ai Plus?

I've got both the Claw 8 AI+ and Legion Go 2 and been testing them both. Starting with the Claw, it does most things right such as: great speakers, decent screen, quiet fans, stays cool, fairly light and easy to carry outside of the house, better X,Y,A,B buttons than the Go 2 cos they're slightly la

Are the Z2 Extreme devices likely to significantly improve in the future with software/driver updates?

I wouldn't recommend an upgrade from the z1e to the z2e, but if you're going from no handheld to a new handheld I can see it might make sense. The two devices I would go for either the legion go s if the z1e or the MSI claw A 8 8 with a z2e. As for the updates, well, apart from the Xbox ally X no ot

Prevent firmware updates?

You need to pin your current you current deployment to prevent updates. Instructions can be found here: https://docs.bazzite.gg/Installing_and_Managing_Software/Updates_Rollbacks_and_Rebasing/rolling_back_system_updates/ I run Bazzite on 3 devices, 2 gaming PCs and a handheld (MSI Claw A8). Need help to choose between lenovo and msi

I had MSI claw 8 AI. I hated the software (Center M) but graphics and speakers were great. I suggest buying the A8 unless you can find a Legion Go 2 Z2E for $1500 or less on Facebook marketplace. I have the LeGo2 and it’s amazing

The problem of 1% low on EGPU. Aorus 5060ti + Xbox Asus Rog Ally X

I think the MSI Claw 8ai+ is the best overall choice for an EGPU because it has a fairly powerful processor. I ran Watch Dogs 2 and it was bad. No matter the resolution, the 1% low frame rate still drops by more than half from 60 fps. Alone in the Dark constantly stutters when switching between loca
