Minisforum MS-S1 Max here - I've had absolutely no issues at all right out of the box with Ubuntu 24 (KDE Neon specifically). The default amdgpu kernel driver, mesa and wayland just work. Did you mess with any settings in the bios around resizable BAR, iommu, the gpu memory reservation, etc?

Indeed - but the Minisforum offers better UEFI options to adjust the fan speed. If the MS-S1 Max delivered the same results as the Bosgame M5 in our volume measurements, it would be the best mini PC in our rating.

For the MS-S1 Max and most other MiniPCs with the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 there are issues with the Firmware, Drivers and/or BIOS so one can only hope that they will support it.
