Build my first minilab cluster with 10Gb networking

Are you able to enable Wake On Lan or Restore power after failure ? I can’t set this with my MS-A1 🫤 Very unconfortable for a server, otherwise great machine 😮

MINI PC FOR CLOUD GAMING

It looks like you've listed good choices; I'd vote for one with an Oculink port, because you could then use an eGPU enclosure with it in the future (that's full-nerd I admit). It looks like the GMKTec M7 has one. The Minisforum MS-A1 is another that has it; that's what I use for a Proxmox host, and

Can I built my own Mini PC?

Most minis discussed here have mobile CPUs so your options for customization really boils down to RAM and storage. If you want additional options, Asrock Deskmini or Minisforum MS-A1 use desktop CPUs so you can pick the one you want from the supported list. EDIT: Most minis from the big brands (Leno

Best value mini pc with ryzen 9?

I have recently purchased a Minisforum ms-a1 with 9950x, 64GB, 1TB version. Here in the EU the cost was 1219 euros on Amazon. I exclusively use it for dev work ( Rustlang mostly), with Fedora and it just works. This is after about 3 months of using it. You can also have a look at MS-A2, read good re

Using an eGPU with MiniSForum MS-A2 & RTX 4060

Hi, within the last couple of weeks I've upgraded to a 9070XT from the 3080Ti, as I wanted to get ahead of potential GPU price increases. The rest of my setup is the same (MS-A1, 8700g, 64GB DDR5 @ 6000MHz) In terms of performance, the impact of running the GPU at gen4 PCIe x4 (via oculink to the DE

Using an eGPU with MiniSForum MS-A2 & RTX 4060

I'll try and get a screenshot of the BIOS tomorrow for you, but essentially I used a binary to hex converter online, so inputting a value of 26 (hex) into the setting (TRAS or whatever option you're on) equates to a value of 38 (decimal) I upgraded from BIOS 1.07 to 1.11 and put some comments on tha

People with Minisforum MS-01 or MS-A1 Mini PCs, how has it been?

I purchased the barebone version of the MS-A1 during Prime week event, 64x2gb laptop memory sticks 5600 speed, 1x 4tb M.2 Gen 4x4 and the AMD 9950x3d. Had it running a week now. I like it. Waiting for my egpu to come in to plug into the Oculink and see how it runs playing games. Been using the inter

If anyone’s on the fence about SteamOS… Do it and don’t look back!

Yesterday I installed Steam OS on a minisforum MS-A1 with a ryzen 7 8700G, 2x16GB RAM sticks at 5200 MT/s and connected to an eGPU vía occulink (ONEXGPU 7600M XT). Before that I had installed Bazzite on this mini PC, but Yesterday stopped working and the OS didn't start, so I decided to make the ins

While GitHub Actions remains a key part of this vision, we are allocating resources towards other areas ...

Thanks! I've run FreeBSD on a dedicated system for a decade, after previously running Linux. This was a new system bought specifically for this purpose, and as a replacement for the old system. I didn't spent too much time worrying about hardware compatibility, but I did check the basics would work.
