I want to replace my current PC with mini PC + Oculink dock - does it make any sense in my usecase?

I have a Minisforum MS-A1 with a Ryzen 7 8700G with an AOOSTAR AG01 dock, and I rotate between various GPUs, including an RX9070XT, and it works wonders. There's a small bandwidth penalty when using OCuLink, but most games are not bandwidth limited. At worst, loading times can be slightly longer, bu

5200mhz DDR5

People just chase bigger numbers I have 4800MT. It’s running at 6000mt without much effort. It’s in a minisforum ms-a1. Stable I can’t imagine if I paid the extra money just to end up in the same place.

New MS-A2 Dead

TJmax 78 should be good, I use external usb fans, too. I mine 24/7 with them and have 3 Minusform mini pcs: ms-a1 and 2 G7 PTs. I find them very good quality.

People with Minisforum MS-01 or MS-A1 Mini PCs, how has it been?

I have the MS-A1. It's fine, 96 GB of ram and a 7900 with the dock. Having some issues with TPM which may have just been fixed with a new BIOS. See my recent activity to find that thread if you're interested in using the dock.

Are mini PCs good for hosting heavily modded Mc servers?

Minisfourm ms-01 (Intel)/ ms-a1 (amd) are both similar and likely more expensive. while still being a small device I believe they would offer significantly better cooling and longevity. I acquired mine used/refurbished off eBay for significantly less than a new machine as well.

Best value mini pc with ryzen 9?

I have recently purchased a Minisforum ms-a1 with 9950x, 64GB, 1TB version. Here in the EU the cost was 1219 euros on Amazon. I exclusively use it for dev work ( Rustlang mostly), with Fedora and it just works. This is after about 3 months of using it. You can also have a look at MS-A2, read good re

(Minisforum) Are you still using the MS-A1 without issues?

I’m using it with 8700g. Everything is just fine when I am not playing 3a game. I will keep using and upgrade when amd release new ryzen ai series if ms-a1 supports

Advice needed please!

Build a nice PC for PC use, and buy a separate cheap mini PC for staking use. Something like the Minisforum MS-A1 with 32 GB of RAM and a 2 TB SSD should cost around $700 all in. You do not want gaming or rebooting to be a source of staking downtime. Keep them separate.

While GitHub Actions remains a key part of this vision, we are allocating resources towards other areas ...

Thanks! I've run FreeBSD on a dedicated system for a decade, after previously running Linux. This was a new system bought specifically for this purpose, and as a replacement for the old system. I didn't spent too much time worrying about hardware compatibility, but I did check the basics would work.
