My partner uses an Intel i7-based Microsoft Surface Pro 8. Her university provides Microsoft, Zoom, Canvas and Adobe, so she has the option of taking notes, sharing, collaborating etc. on any of those platforms. These clouds (and Google's, of course) are accessible on her phone as well, so in the ev

heads up that pro 3 accessories won't work on newer models since they changed the design after the pro 4. for med school the Surface Pro 7+ is still solid if you find a good deal. the Surface Pro 9 with intel is worth it if you want the newer form factor and better battery life for long days. both w

I use the Adobe suite which is far more power-intensive than Microsoft's software and it runs well on my Surface Pro 11 (13"). There are better specs on the Surface Pro than the Surface Laptop line. You get the Laptop when you want the bigger screen or the traditional form factor. For example, the r

i feel you on this. was in the same spot looking for a study tablet that actually runs windows. for your needs a surface pro 9 with 16gb ram would be plenty and you can find them refurbished under $800 now. battery lasts 8-10 hours for web and office stuff. the slim pen 2 feels natural for notes. if

For developers - the best Surface Pro I ever had is X elite 32GB. Way better than Surface Pro 9 with Intel same 32GB. Works whole day, IDEs, compilers and docker work perfectly. Playing with NPU by Windows AI SDK

ngl the pro 8 still holds up for basic stuff. i used one until last year and it never felt slow for office and browsing. the battery might be tired on used units though. if you want something newer for similar money the surface pro 9 refurb gives you better processor and longer support. just make su

this is why I buy the 4 year Microsoft Complete. My SP9 i5 (Nov 2024) battery is still OK but my 2 usb-c ports are buggy for charging so I'm going to warranty it later this year and get a "new"unit. I've done this with 3 prior SPs and got 3-4 years out of each. Still have my SP6 as backup (I'll use
