Building DIY Battery Powered PA Subwoofer Amplifier

i've been down this road and honestly for a first project a battery pa sub is pretty complex. the tpa3255 wants 36-48v for full power and pulling that from a 12v battery needs a boost converter which adds noise and inefficiency. a 50ah 12v battery gets you maybe 600 watt hours - running two subs you

Portable speakers for Omnis Duo

A lot of those JBL speakers have a bit of delay on them even in wired mode. Id suggest a more purpose built battery powered pa speaker like the Mackie thump go or the Bose s1

Tired of lugging my 15” tops around for ceremony and moving it to cocktail/reception. Would Alto TX408 work well for a ceremony setup?

I've actually borrowed some of those 8" Mackie Thump Go's for weddings before. They fall between the Alto and QSC as far sound quality. But they are battery powered which is really nice, but if you are using a wireless mic you're gonna need to run power anyway. The green detailing is kind of obnoxio

Tired of lugging my 15” tops around for ceremony and moving it to cocktail/reception. Would Alto TX408 work well for a ceremony setup?

For ceremony and cocktail, I recommend a pair of mackie thump go. They are fairly inexpensive and will get the job done. I have an alto monitor (tx308) and the one I have has hardly any headroom or dynamic range. I wouldn't recommend alto. My Ceremony Setup: 2x Mackie Thump Go Yamaha mg06x Dbx go ra

Looking for a Bass Amp

If you're looking for something with that feature, check out Mackie Thump speakers. You can connect to instruments (both XLR and TRS) and Bluetooth to your phone. My husband uses one (Thump GO) for looping/busking, and it's what I practice with, and we've even used it like an amp for band practice a

Bluetooth PA Speaker

I am very familiar with the Behringer and the batteries are definitely the weakest link on those. While they sound decent, you can certainly do better. I am afraid the Alto might at best be a lateral move and at worst could be a small step down. The EV Everse is my top recommendation. It is much mor

Wireless/battery powered speaker

Bump for the Thump Go’s. I was super skeptical at first, and the only reason I picked these speakers up was because I had a pop-up request for battery powered speakers. I had booked a wedding where the ceremony area suddenly wasn’t going to have power. They didn’t want to rent a generator because th

No Stupid Questions Thread

Hello everyone, I have a question about the “Mackie Thump Go” speakers. I have two of them and use them for weddings, primarily outdoors. I have a microphone that I connect wirelessly to one speaker and then connect to the second speaker via cable. This works wonderfully and without any problems. If
