Monitor research is driving me insane

I have found Mini LED from AOC to be a decent middle ground. Set the local dimming to LOW or Medium and you get okish contrast with amazing HDR brightness in most viewing conditions. I just leave it in HDR mode as I cant be bothered diving into menus all the time based on the specific content/use. C

Do I need a high end tv?

S95F is barely better than the S90F, and in fact has a matte screen coating which imo makes it worse than the S90F which has a glossy screen. Samsung OLEDs aren’t as good as LG and SONY OLEDs. If you want an eye popping tv, checkout the LG, G5 OLED. Or the upcoming model this year, the G6. Both are

AVForums just reviewed the new LG G6 OLED -- those scores are pretty wild.

I allready written that there is considerable...considerable lower grain on Samsung S90F and even more lower on Samsung S90C. All 3 TV's were 65 inches. On Samsung's TV's pushing Noise reduction really do the trick, but even with that disable both Samsungs that I tested had a smaller amount of it th

How is GT7 different than Assetto Corsa in PCVR with wheel?

Did you turn the brightness of the headset down? The HDR hurts my eyes after they're adjusted to the dark. Fade to white in Moss is painful at full brightness. Sure and OLED TV can go up much higher for local highlights yet PSVR2 'only' 265 nits covers the whole screen over 110 degree fov. The max f

What's keeping you in Blu-ray collecting

I’ve got the LG G5 and I honestly think most people are just paying a 4K tax for peace of mind. I’ve been grabbing Blu-rays from CeX lately. I got Avengers Assemble for £1.50 while the 4K version was £10.00. Is that 4K disc really seven times better? Not a chance. On a screen this good you would 100

(48 hrs unlocked) - LG G5 vs G6 OLED - RTINGS

(background info: I own/have owned C7/C9/C1/G1/G2/G3/C5, in multiple rooms, doubting to upgrade main tv 77G3 to 83G5 or G6) I'm not sure what settings others use for their LG OLEDs, but whether i am gaming in HDR (PC) or watching HDR 4K Blu-rays, I have always had Dynamic Tone Mapping enabled and ex

AVForums just reviewed the new LG G6 OLED -- those scores are pretty wild.

I couldn't get over Point 2 - it has a lot of grain. I couldn't watch my favourite serie Two and a Half men because of that grain. Sent it back. It has very good face tones, colors almost in QD OLED realm (they done it here), great brightness, medium motion handling, black crushing with latest updat
