Bar Crappy computer
I have a LG Gram with the worst implementation (performance wise) of the i5-1035G7 in a LG Gram 17 laptop. It has like 2cm of copper from the CPU to the tiny-ass fan. The Intel graphics use 4 year old drivers because it automatically rolls back when I update. BAR literally gives me a loading screen

Warning: LG Gram LG 17Z90RU-G.AA55F Specs Discrepancy – Possible False Advertising on RAM (LPDDR5 vs LPDDR4x)
As you found out already (but probably too late, after buying this laptop) the processor you got does not support 6000Mhz RAM. But the memory is the least of your problems. Since you are knowledgeable enough to check the memory in BIOS and require a certain performance from your laptop, why on earth

Local LLM - privacy first - doctor
I have the same laptop processor and memory - it's an LG-Gram. I have done quite a bit of bench-marking on the 155H, and one thing I notice is that thermal control and power management often times degrades AI speed on it. Knowing that, there are a number of models that if you are doing text only wor

LG Gram Pro 17" 2025 - beyond insulting thermal paste application, 80% of the die was naked; awful thermal design too, plenty of room for bigger heatpipe and heatsink. This is aswful engineering from LG. This laptop could have used much higher power limits.
I'm going to have to agree here; my LG Gram 17 is the same weight as my 14" ThinkPad T14S Gen 1 that has very adequate cooling, so clearly it can be done without adding a significant amount of weight as that is a laptop that doesn't have any other major weight reduction methods in place. The only re

Throttling, revisited - only when plugged in

Is it worth purchasing the Framework 16 in 2026?
Last week, I took a gamble and bought a secondhand 'for parts' 2014 FW16 for cheap, broke it down, put it back together, and after a session of troubleshooting, got it fully running the next day. Then I opted for CachyOS since it has optimized repos for Zen4+ architectures, did a few personal tweaks

Do 2024 LG Gram still have overheating issues?
I bought a 17-inch LG Gram with an i7 155H processor. It had a heating problem, so I sold it after 3 months of use. LG was disappointing to me, despite being very lightweight.

LG Gram Pro 17 2025 (17Z90TP Core Ultra 7 255H) - how to make this laptop (and other grams) run like hell
I just posted this: https://www.reddit.com/r/LGgram/comments/1l6r3ow/lg_gram_pro_17_2025_beyond_insulting_thermal/ How did you actually measure "sustained power" and what do you actually mean by that, given that the power limits are TL1=45W and TL2=64W (encforced via bios)? You guys who add (thick) therma

LG Gram Pro 17 2025 (17Z90TP Core Ultra 7 255H) - how to make this laptop (and other grams) run like hell
Yes, once you access the advanced bios settings (press ctrl+alt+shift+f7). You can also change the thermal throttling limits as well as reduce the power limits. You cannot increase the power limits though (45W and 64W for TL1 and TL2), which is what I wanted; the advanced bios settings allows settin

fixing throttling on lg gram laptops, tips offered
The LG smart assistant was wiping any BIOS changes Hi, how did you figure out it was the Smart Assistant? I have the previous generation Gram 17 (i7-1360P) and I can't get the same Cinebench R23 benchmarks as NotebookCheck got. However, I could swear when I first bought my machine it met the reviewe
