I think in a larger laptop they would still make sense actually. You could have a super thin and lightweight 16" or 17" laptop with a smallish battery (to reduce thickness and weight) that still delivers good battery life due to efficiency. The brand that I think of for this is LG, with their LG gra

Skip the Zenbook Snapdragon for now. You are right to be skeptical. App compatibility is still a mess and it is not worth the headache. Between the Vivobook S14 and LG Gram both are good but different. LG Gram is lighter, better battery, feels premium. But it costs more. Vivobook S14 gives you more

I recently bought the lg gram, with the 258v. has great battery life. the ai pro or the npu don't really do anything except help copilot run recall. id probably do the x1 carbon if I didn't have the gram. with coding you need a great keyboard and a decent enough screen so your eyes don't get tired.

A potato is enough. Windows always works, Macs can cause problems sometimes. You’re going to use a lot of MATLAB. Some multisim which is an ancient circuit simulation tool, and KiCAD or similar. None of these things are demanding. I have a LG gram from Costco and I love it. 17” screen and weighs lik

Hi, I've owned the 17" for a while and before that, an MSI Creator 17M (17"). I have the i7-1360P but I do regret not getting the RTX3050 GPU option for the occasional demanding work like video rendering which is very demanding. Otherwise, it's done well indeed for work similar to yours. If I were t

What gaming laptop is meant to run on battery? They all don't last more than 2 hours even when out of factory these are 230w and up laptops always and the battery allowable is 99wh. I could play roblox on battery on my 17 inch lg gram without gpu and running that on battery is decent but Alienware i

Yeah LG grams are lightweight computers they make. 17 inch 16:10 screen only weight in less than 3lbs. The i5 ones are more reliable than the i7 and I made a thread on battery replacement. Batteries are very hard to get right on third party. The computer is picky lol. I buy and sell laptops fast and

The LG gram 17 is great if you want a large, lightweight screen with long battery life. It handles video editing well and is easy to carry around without feeling bulky.
