hepa is not really needed tbh. people build cr boxes with merv 13 or 14 filters. and there are pc based air filters like clean air kits or north box in Canada that use hvac filters with 120-140mm pc fans. And other ones like the air fanta 3 pro. They are all chart topping for cfm to noise and power.

It depends how big your room sizes, as you need at least 2 for full proper coverage. One large in main area, and one small/medium in bedroom. I have a 750 foot square apartment and have 8x units. But I inherited an old smelly carpet here,.mold was present, and I have allergies. So you won't need 8.

Yeah the Levoit Core 600s would be better but the Vital 200s is roughly the same as the one the OP shared. If the goal is to avoid illness, I wouldn't necessarily advise substandard air filtration. Yes better than none but I wouldn't bet my health on it
