You are correct, m series macs are not production ready. Look into the Lenovo yoga slim 7i aura edition. New and open box are available. Arch wiki has a workaround for the current sleep bug and I think it will get upstream eventually too

Any of these worth it?
If you want to run some small games and a drawing program... If you have $1000, this HP Elitebook X G1i is cream of the crop. No dGPU, but it'll play smaller things perfectly fine. If you don't have that much, consider this open box Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition. It's normally about $1400. I don't know
