Hell, I'm using a ThinkPad Yoga 12 I got for $80 USD cheap off ebay. Sure it's soldered memory, but slap in a 1tb hard drive and it works. ... It's a glorified type writer running Fedora but it does in fact work. lol

You get fairly recent tech for 1/3 to 1/4 the price depending on model. T480 is 6 years old now (maybe 7)and it's still a fantastic machine for basically everything short of AI and content creation workloads. So anything newer is a cherry on top. I would venture to say that if that MacBook has an Intel processor, you could install Linux on it and it will run faster than it is currently and with an up to date operating system. You may not need to spend any money. But, a good thinkpad, as others have mentioned is the T14 Gen 1 or 2 ThinkPad. I

When I was in the market for a thinkpad yoga 12/S1 Yoga, the very first one I bought had this track pad and it SUCKED. Irredeemably so. Returned it to seller and got a refurbished one with the good track pad from newegg. Cost me about $100 more but it was worth it to me to buy it like that OOB

t440s? I've got a 3380m in a t430 I last used.. 30 minutes ago. and my main laptop is a i5-5200u ThinkPad Yoga 12 (Not a T-series, but I got it for 50 AUD) the Yoga 12 is not my best laptop lmao (that would be a 11320H) but it is still my main.
