I got off on an Apple rant there, and forgot to say that as someone who came primarily from the Apple laptop ecosystem, I find ThinkPads the only satisfying PC laptop experience. The quality is similar to Apple, they have fabulous keyboards, and Lenovo isn't trying to copy Apple's design aesthetics

Many places I could go here. In no particular order: -40 series. Clunkpad which seemed to only know where you were clicking solely based on it's mood. Not to be confused with the very similar looking but incredibly good Sensel haptic touchpad on the P1 and X1. -X9. No Trackpoint and also has a lot o

Yeah, honestly I've learnt to look at comparable options from other brands in addition to the ThinkPad series, that way you'll get the best of all worlds! Afterall, those Elitebooks are HP's own take at what a business class laptop is and it is equally built like a tank. In this case though, it's no

I had the Gen1. Assuming the Gen2 was the same, I think this is better. The T14 would creak if I picked it up by one corner, and it felt like a lot of weight for that corner to hold. No concern doing that with the Z13. It's easier to take the bottom panel off the Z13, no annoying clips and pry-tool

T430 and x240 are already generation behind x220. Lenovo took over before x200 and than they started to change the keyboards gradually from its IBM design. And that is what Inam referring to. X240 was already very different. And if you compare that with an e14g4 ( I can only speak for p14g4) it’s ag

A lot of the engineering of things goes into making them cheaper, which is both cheaper for you, but more importantly, cheaper for the OEM. The keyboard is the prime example: That nice 7-row keyboard? It costs a lot more than a chiclet-style one. Chiclet keys are cheaper, the lattice is easier to mo
