Why is the X1 Carbon considered the most premium ThinkPad?
The thing is it doesn't have a better cooling system than the T14s (note the s). The T14s Gen 6 is like 90% of the X1C Gen 13 at 3/4 of the price, with a lot more CPU and screen options too. I appreciate the engineering behind the X1C idea but a lot of those innovations are trickling down to lesser

First ThinkPad! Is this T14s Gen 6 a good deal for $730?
Looks like the touch version has 45% NTSC or 100% srgb color gamut options. If it's the latter, jump on it. If it is the former, you still should be fine if you're predominantly going to use it docked. Note: Page 5 and 6 in the below document gives you display options. https://psref.lenovo.com/syspo

Which laptop would you choose: Dell Latitude 7430 (32GB DDR4, i7-1265U) or ThinkPad T14S Gen 3 (Ryzen 5 Pro 6650U, 16GB DDR5)?
Both of those are excellent ultraportables with more than enough power for web work and light CAD. The Latitude 7430's i7‑1265U + DDR4 combo is very efficient and tends to have quieter fans and longer battery life, while the T14s Gen 3's Ryzen 5 Pro 6650U + DDR5 offers stronger integrated graphics (

T14 G2 AMD vs T14s G3 Intel
I'd say if gen3 Intel has "P" CPU (higher power but worse thermals and battery) like i7-1260P, I'd prioritise T14 gen2 AMD over T14s gen3 Intel (probably with worse thermals and battery life in expense with CPU power). My Thinkpad X9 15 Impressions (Reflectiveness, Fan Noise, Input Devices)
Damn, thank you for this review, your post came in clutch and mentioned all the things that are relevant for me too! I actually bought a p14s with a glorious 3K screen, which has been absolutely fantastic. Buuut, i'll return it because of shitty battery life (talking of 2,5 hours of battery life on

Looking to move to a Thinkpad, wondering what would fit my needs.
tl;dr: 16 or more GB RAM model of X13 (13.3 inch) or T14s (14 inch) gen1 AMD would be the closest one that meet your criteria. Also are there any other Thinkpads similar to the x1, maybe ones that are a little cheaper X13 (Intel/ AMD) or T14s (Intel/ AMD) series were made of either aluminium or magn

My first ThinkPad, T14s Gen 6 :)
I'm happy that someone got the TNG reference. Scotty T14 it is. https://www.notebookcheck.net/This-is-how-Intel-beats-AMD-Lenovo-ThinkPad-T14-Gen-6-laptop-review.1144489.0.html The Scotty has Lunar Lake but without upgradeable RAM because Lunar Lake uses on-chip memory. That makes the Scotty an odd

AI crisis: Affordable Lenovo ThinkPad laptops are getting expensive
respectfully, lenovo is fucking everyone over at least in the US with their configurations. T14s gen 6 with either AMD or intel has no high refresh rate/high res/oled screen. cant even get one or the other, you’re just stuck with 1920x1200 at 60hz. garbage. no haptic trackpad on the T series or P se

Any Good Build Quality Laptops with As Good Keyboards as on Thinkpads But Also NICE Displays/Sound?
The T14s Gen 6 Snapdragon has incredible battery life compared to Intel and AMD models. I'm getting 15 hours on a small 58 Wh battery and that's with the power hogging 2.8 OLED screen. The 2.8k OLED panel options are the best screens in Lenovo's lineup but they're not very efficient.

T14s Gen 6 (OLED) vs P14s Gen 6 (IPS) for Produtivity on Linux
I have deployed around 180 T14s with the 2.8k OLED (Gen4 AMD, Gen6 LNL) - and so far, no complaints regarding text quality. Lenovo markets these towards enterprise customers with text-heavy use cases, so they can ill afford to compromise there. But your experience may differ - OLEDs do have an inher
