Some mfs said "E series = E-Waste"

Part of it is they're pretty much made by a completely different company. Most ThinkPads (T, X1, X, P, L, Z and probably also the X9 to get their intrusive thoughts out) are designed and engineered by Yamato Design in Japan, a design firm that has existed since the IBM days. They also make a lot of

DPWH Bumili ng 5 Laptops worth 930,000 Pesos

200k per laptop is kinda justifiable, if for CAD applications. Using a CAD laptop for general office use, though, is a whole other thing that is both wasteful and stupid and should be highlighted more. Edit: one of those CAD laptops for reference: Lenovo ThinkPad P16

Are prices now ridiculous?

I've always used mobile workstations. I was planning on buying the ThinkPad P16 Gen 3 at the end of April. In between the first week of April and the fourth week, prices rose for this model (depending on configuration) an average of $2000 USD. They can keep it.

Is this ThinkPad P16v on eBay actually a good deal?

no, not a good deal. That a fair standard price for non-consumer customers (and even a bit higher).Only case for which I see it being worth: you need a machine with those specs urgently ; that would be second cheapest option beside ordering from Lenovo. You can find P16 gen2 with similar performance

Which is the best ThinkPad?

I was considering the ThinkPad P16 Gen 3, but it's difficult for me to justify spending nearly €4,000 on a laptop that appears to be mostly plastic. It's not what the outside looks like, it's what the chassis is constructed from. Typically a magnesium alloy for Thinkpad frames.

Laptop recommendations - didn't get any suggestions there, so trying my luck in the germany sub :)

With a budget cap at 1000 Euro and ruling out refurbished, I don't think you will be able to find anything ThinkPad-grade with a decent GPU. The cheapest ThinkPad P16 with a dedicated graphic card is around 1700 Euro. I guess you need to make your gaming requirements more concrete. Latest generation

Vectorworks users in the US, what’s your experience been like?

At first it seemed like a decent program. But reality hits you like a steel beam in the face.1- Requires a lot of power (CPU, GPU, system memory, storage, screen resolution). Likely there is no perfect machine, just one that is acceptable. You can have one that is 1000x faster, and it will run signi

Kingston SSD

Kingston uses different controllers on their products so that opens more compatibility issues, some mobos/laptops don't like them as a booting drive. If a laptop maker used a Kingston SSD they likely ran more certifications than others. I know for a fact some ASUS Expertbook and ProArt models can't/

It's baffling how unrepairable and disposable most modern consumer laptops are

You have a P series, the P17 is Lenovo's answer to the proven and tested decade old Dell Precision and ZBook (previously Elitebook W) lineups, which always have had extreme repairability down to the GPU, repairability that can't be fit into any laptop. It's not because Thinkpad, it's because without
