First thing I'd point out is a very flawed premise. At the higher levels of specs, mac doesn't even HAVE laptops to compete with the specs of ThinkPads. Find me a Mac laptop that has 4TB internal storage like my P14s Gen4 AMD AND my P14s Gen5 AMD. Find me a Mac laptop that has 64GB RAM. I'll wait...

These are the outgoing P14s Gen 5 models and they're being discounted because the new Gen 6 is coming out next month. The RAM on these is swappable so you can start with 32GB ($1300+tax) and then upgrade to 64GB down the road if you need to do heavy simulation. But I think you'll be fine on 32GB for

You are not ment to swap just the keyboard on P14s Gen5 Intel unfortunately, they are rivetted to the C cover(topcase). While yes with time and pain it's probably doable but I personally would just get the whole assembly. Seems to be around 150$ directly from Lenovo US. See if they sell parts in you

There is no absolute the BEST unless you must consider it as a collection instead of a tool. Unless you buy it as a collection. You buy for what it capable for. like you buy a Ford F150 bc it would be a great tool to get rid of heavy snow in the winter. Unfder such terms, I think the BEST machine fr

The Lenovo Thinkpad P14S Gen 5 is currently on sale on Lenovo's website for £700 with 32GB of RAM. The radeon 780M integrated graphics will wrok well enough for the light CAD work, and it's got excellent built quality with a bright and accurate IPS screen. Yeah, I look at the complete package as well, but have much different priorities. In fact battery life is my #2 priority (after a decent screen) up UNTIL it passes 8 hours. Then it becomes dead last. Value though is quite high. Weight I don't really prioritize, since I can't feel the difference in w

I'm a private individual. I recently placed three orders from Lenovo: my first time buying from them. Very fast, yes. Inside each box was a summary of the contents. But I have to say one thing: the package was shameful. The internal packaging was completely insufficient and useless. And I have to ap

Recommended New Machine: P14s Gen5 AMD You get replaceable RAM, AMD processor for better battery life, and you are better off picking the 1920x1200 screen because the 1800p OLED will decrease your battery life. Recommend Outlet Pick: T14 Gen 5 AMD You get replaceable RAM & AMD processor for better b

I just received a P14s gen5 AMD and it's awesome in it's simplicity, also has a network port.Reports suggest the battery life is poor but i've been using it for 2 days on battery only and battery still has 20% charge. It's much snappier than the inspiron it replaced

I'm a bit of an edge case myself (I don't need huge CPU performance, no need for graphics, but do need lots of ram), but I prefer my E14 Gen6 AMD (7735U) over my P14s Gen5 AMD (8840HS).
