Is the p14s g1 suitable for a mechanical engineering student

Amd or Intel for e14
I'm a bit of an edge case myself (I don't need huge CPU performance, no need for graphics, but do need lots of ram), but I prefer my E14 Gen6 AMD (7735U) over my P14s Gen5 AMD (8840HS).
