The P1 gen7 had serious issues with the new sensel haptic touchpad (https://www.reddit.com/r/Lenovo/s/6BwGqVATHs) rendering it unusable. It was basically a hardware design issue. That was the only reason I didn’t buy it. Does it happen with the Gen8 as well?

Have you actually looked into LPCAMM2 memory? That stuff ins pure unobtainium. Apart from one lone Thinkpad (P1 Gen7) it hasn't been adopted by the industry so far, and there's zero aftermarket availabilty. Even Lenovo won't sell you modules to upgrade as they don't have any. It's been a year since

sorry, missed the 14" oled touchscreen requirement, its a pretty big hangup. I have p1 gen7. It's definitely not silent even without gaming.
