This system, ThinkPad L14 Gen 5 (Intel), is a fine computer. It's relatively new, I see few of these on the used market in the US so far. 16gb of ram and 256gb of SSD are fine starting places and they're also modular/replaceable on this model. The price seems basically fair.

I am going to China for a few months and just built a pretty decent rig out of a thinkpad L14 gen 4. My home laptop is a lenovo yoga i9 as my main studio computer. Personally, my favorite 16:9 laptop ever was a Lenovo ThinkPad L14 Gen3 AMD. It was great....5875u, 64gb ram, 2tb SSD, 400-nit low power display, 57wh battery. Could get over 8 hours on battery with a light load and reasonable brightness. Loved that thing.

As someone who is using Macbook Pro M1 2020, totally agree with you! Very smooth pa din ang Mac kahit M1 lang to. I also have a Lenovo ThinkPad L14 and super solid din!

If you're open to refurbished machines and are looking for what looks like fairly normal usage, maybe consider something like the Dell Latitude 5440? It's a 14-inch mainstream business laptop from 2023 with Intel 13th gen. You can get them on US eBay for $250-350 or so. They have 2x SODIMM slots, WL
