get the L14 IF it is at least the i5 or r5 and it has an IPS screen. if it has the TN or one of the lower specd chips, get the t480 ( if the price is lower or the same). what exactly are you studying? if it is anything that requires any sort of processing power, none of these laptops save the L14 ry

This system, ThinkPad L14 Gen 5 (Intel), is a fine computer. It's relatively new, I see few of these on the used market in the US so far. 16gb of ram and 256gb of SSD are fine starting places and they're also modular/replaceable on this model. The price seems basically fair.
